You may be asking yourself what you will encounter if you decide to visit us. We've designed this page in an attempt to answer some of the more common questions about what you can expect:

Whom will I meet?

People of all ages and backgrounds living in the greater Mercer area who enjoy worshiping together at Trinity. We believe in the saving grace of Jesus and the hope of eternal life. Our worship style is mostly traditional, and we enjoy the many talented musicians within our congregation.   We are enjoying the growing children of our young families. We hope you find us genuinely friendly.

Do I have to stand up in front of people?

We hope you will be more comfortable meeting a few people who are seated around you.

Do I have to wake up early?

Today's society is fast-paced. People are working long hours. We understand it is difficult to participate in church on Sunday morning. We also recognize that beginning one's week in Christian fellowship and offering praise and thanksgiving to God is of great value.

Our primary meetings take place on Sundays with small groups for all ages from 9:45-10:30 a.m. and worship from 11:00-noon September through May (9:00 a.m. adult group, and worship at 10 a.m. June through August).

Do you want my money?

In a word, No.

The folks who are a regular part of our community voluntarily give to help support our mission efforts around the world and also to pay expenses we incur as a community. But we certainly don't expect visitors to give. If you join us at one of our meetings, you are our guest.

In time, if you decide to become a regular part of our community, you may decide that you would like to participate monetarily in our activities and efforts. At that time, we would joyfully welcome your participation. But our desire for you now is simply that you be given the opportunity to check us out without feeling pressure to give money.

Are you going to tell me what's wrong with me?

The message of Jesus is about good news. He did not come to earth to condemn us. Instead, He came to give us life.  And so, while we feel it is important to recognize that we all have fallen short of God's ideals, it is even more important to emphasize the joyful and complete life which Jesus offers us.

Our desire is that you come away from our gatherings contemplating that reality: that while we have fallen short of the ideal in our lives, Jesus offers us peace, hope, and joy in a way and in a measure we have never known before.

Do I have to dress up?

Anything is acceptable. We do "clean up" as we wish to make the Lord's Day a special day.

Do I have to turn my kids over to a stranger?

We offer children's programs. Our nursery also provides a safe, clean, pleasant environment for your babies, toddlers, and children through pre-kindergarten age during our morning worship.  We have a large play room, a paid nursery staff and a Parent Check-In and Paging System. We also have a Children's Church program during part of the worship hour most Sundays during the school year for older children.

At the same time, we certainly understand why you would want to check us out before allowing your kids to go to a separate part of our facility to participate in our children's programs.

You should know that children are definitely welcome IN our meetings and worship if you prefer to keep them with you.

Do I have to be a member?

You are welcome to participate in any of the activities at Trinity.  If you wish to receive our monthly online newsletter just give us your email. Paper copies are available.  If, at some time, you would like to know more about membership, our pastor will be happy to visit with you and answer questions you may have.

We'd be happy to show you around.
When you visit, speak to an usher and he or she will introduce you to someone who will be happy to give you a tour and answer your questions. We want you to feel welcome and look forward to getting to know you.

I have more questions now.

If you have more questions, please send us an email or call the church office at 724-662-2680. We will do our best to answer them.
